Slacker!
September 1st 2009 9:56 am

Yes that’s right, my mom is a slacker! I haven’t been having regular diary updates. Hurummff! And I believe it’s all because of my sick siblings. Annie has a ouchie on her side and Ty had surgery on his ear about a week ago. They are taking up all her spare time. So I thought to myself… “Self, what can you do to get more attention?” Well I figure it out… I needed to get hurt too!!

I have a spot on my tummy that I’ve been licking for a few days now. It looks a little red, not painful, but it doesn’t look pretty either. Plus I managed to get a little nick on my leggie. Mom spotted that scab yesterday. She’s been putting medicine on my tummy to help make it feel better. And I get a couple of benedryls in a pill pocket to help with any allergies.

I think the sibs are onto something with the injuries. Injuries = special treatment!

What’s up?

Thought I’d take a minute and see what’s up with all my pals. I’ve been out of the loop for a while, my typist is slacking on her job.

I’ve acquired a new foster-brother. His name is Magic and he is a husky/german shep mix. VERY high energy dog. We have had lots of fun wrestling, running and romping. This has been put to a temporary halt due to the fact he had the big “snip” late last week. I have to admit that I am enjoying the break… he was about to play me to death. BOL!

Annie’s boo-boo is almost completely healed. It’s taken longer than mom thought it would, so I guess it was a more serious wound than was originally thought. Or maybe she isn’t healing as fast since she is getting older. BUT she can still put me in my place!!

Ty’s ouchie ear is healed and no longer “buttoned” to the top of his head. I’m glad he’s better, means that I can pick on him again. I know he must be glad, bet it’s terrible to have your ear stuck to the top of your head 24/7.

Abby is doing fine too. No more nose or back problems for now.

This is Magic

The Noun Hound
September 18th 2009 12:44 pm

I played this game on my pal Wyoming’s diary and was one of the winners, so now it is my turn!

I give you 4 clues to an animal, place or thing and you pawmail me with your answer – don’t post it on here. The first 5 winners will get a rosette from me!

Here are the clues:

1) This mammal lays eggs instead of giving birth to live young.
2) When first discovered by Europeans in 1798, it was believed to be a fraud.
3) It is one of the few venomous mammals.
4) Milk for it’s young is released through pores in the skin. The milk will pool in grooves on the mother’s abdomen, allowing the young to lap it up.

Ok, pups! There are the clues! Put on your thinking caps and have fun!

Morning Breath
October 28th 2009 9:33 am

Mom says I have morning breath. What’s that & how can that be?? I think my breath is the same no matter what time of day it is… unless I just finished a cow hoof or something. In that case, I will admit my breath is less than fresh.

Anyway, I’ve decided that I want to sleep at the top of the bed with Mom. Now this is normally my sister Annie’s spot, but ya snooze, ya lose. I’ve made it to bed before she has, so I get to claim my spot. I enjoy the top of the bed. I can snuggle up to Mom and I get to have my own pillow! How sweet is that??

Anyhoo… the pillow is where the morning breath comes into play. I sleep on my pillow, but at some point during the night I end up sharing Mom’s pillow. When she wakes up, my snout is almost touching her nose. Then I proceed to do a BIG yawn, right in her face! BOL!! I think it’s funny, but she pushes my nose away and tells me I have morning breath. Should I be offended??

What not to do…
October 30th 2009 5:01 pm

Here’s a lesson on what not to do when Mom is trying to sleep in. We were all very happy to have an extra sleep in day this week, but seems like I made a little mistake in manners. Evidently there are certain things a pup shouldn’t do. And some how I think I figured out what might be high up on that list.

A pup should not sit up in bed and howl. I did… and mom wasn’t happy about it. Seems like that is a rude way to wake up a human. Really, it wasn’t my fault. Blame it on Ty… he’s the one who taught me to howl at sirens. And there was a siren blaring somewhere within my hearing range. Once I woke mom up, she could hear it in the distance. I’m guess having a reason to howl, doesn’t excuse the behavior. Mom got up, grumbling the whole time about never getting to have a relaxing day.

So, I guess I will try to refrain from howling in bed in the future!
